The Worthing Dome is fabulous – I’ve no idea how it could possibly have escaped my attention until today! It’s a seaside venue with an exciting history, a gorgeous facade and beautifully styled inside.
I adore the seaside location, the glorious sunshine and amazing views are perfect – I thought they’d be just the tonic for this chilly March morning! Heather and Liam are just the loveliest couple too: their photos really do melt my heart
Heather and Liam chose well: with this incredible venue and a wonderful wedding photographer to match! Victoria JK Lamburn Photography is no stranger to the English Wedding Blog: her images are always beautiful and she gets great reviews from her brides and grooms too!

Our wedding story: Liam and Heather
Wedding photographer’s website:
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer?
We were extremely pleased with our photos and particularly loved the photos on the beach in the evening. They really told the story of our special day from start to finish.
Wedding venue:
The ceremony took place at The Holy Family Church in Lancing and the reception venue was held at the vintage style building; the Dome in Worthing.
Wedding date:
Thursday 7th August 2014
Can you describe your wedding in a single sentence?
The most perfect day!
What was your reaction to seeing your wedding photos for the first time?
Absolutely stunning!
Your wedding style and theme:
Vintage style with mint green colour
Any happy tears on the day?
Loads! At various parts of the day.
How did the two of you meet?
We met at Secondary school in Worthing, West Sussex.
How long did you spend planning your wedding?
11months
Best bit of budget advice?
Less is more!
Wedding invitations and on the day stationery:
The wedding invitations and stationery were handmade by myself with the help of my mum and aunties; they had a sprinkle of the colour ‘mint green.’
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes, it was the first of many dresses that I tried on.
Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:
La Sposa (designer from Barcelona)
Once Upon A Time in Hove, West Sussex
Glitz and sparkle: the bride’s accessories:
My grandmothers drop pearl earrings and a silver Pandora bracelet.
The groom wore:
A charcoal grey, 3 piece suit with a single breasted jacket and a mint green tie.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
The bridesmaids wore long, mint green, chiffon dresses.
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
My sister did my make-up and I had my hair done at a salon in Worthing named ‘Centre Stage.’
Wedding flowers:
My bouquet was small and very simple with Calla Lilies. The bridesmaids wore a corsage with a calla lily and gypsophila with a splash of mint green colour, along with the buttonholes. The flowers at the venue and church were small bunches of gypsophila with mint green chiffon ribbon around.
What do you remember most about the wedding ceremony?
Heather: Walking down the aisle with my Dad
Liam: Seeing Heather walking down the aisle
Wedding readings?
We had a gospel reading from the bible by Liam’s grandma: 1: Corinthians 12 and some beautiful bidding prayers which were read by my granddad.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
The reception venue was a stunning building and did not need much decoration. Each of the tables had a candelabra in the middle and some handmade jars with mint green lace around the outside. Each jar held some flowers or a candle. Each table had a sprinkling of vintage style confetti. The chairs had no covers with a white chiffon bow and a small bunch of gypsophila attached to the back.
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
Our wedding cake was a quirky, vintage style with pink flowers.
Entertainment:
The evening entertainment consisted of a fabulous Irish band known as ‘The Crackling Griffins’ who are based in Brighton and they really got the party started!
On the day tips and advice:
Enjoy every minute and go with the flow!
What’s the best thing about being married?
Being an ‘official’ partnership after all these years together.
